Story 4: Life on a ship-Chapter nine: Treehouse

Jack and Diana were bored. Isabelle stopped reading."How about we go find something to do on the island?"Isabelle asked."Sure,"said Jack. Faith was sleeping in. She usually woke up at 7:00. It was 7:45. They got out of the boat. The island was always peaceful and it always cheered Diana up. Isabelle walked up to a big palm tree. It had low, steady branches that didn't even move in the wind. Jack had an idea."How about we make a treehouse?"Jack asked."Sure!"said Diana. They gathered wood and stuffed their arms up with as much as they could carry. They piled all the wood in front of the palm tree."I think that's enough,"said Isabelle. Diana got their dad's old toolbox and they all got to work. Isabelle put the wood in place, Diana put in the screws and nails and Jack hammered. When they were done, they got in their new treehouse. It was wonderful.

Have you ever read Swiss Family Robinson. Your building the treehouse reminds me so much of Swiss Family Robinson. It's a great book!

My friends and I built a tree house when I was young. We were always high above things playing games, reading and talking and giggling.Grandma Lily
