Story 5: The great ballerina-Chapter 4: Halloween

"Diana? Wake up! Do you know what today is?"Jessie was shaking Diana all her might. Diana finally woke up."No. I don't know what today is,"Diana said sleepily."It's Halloween!!!"Jessie said, in a VERY loud voice. She must be very excited about whatever she just said, Diana thought. Even her thoughts sounded sleepy. She felt sleepy everywhere."What did you say? Hallo-what?"Diana asked Jessie, trying to sound very awake."Trying to sound awake makes me sound even sleepier," Diana mumbled to herself."I said Halloween, silly! Are you to sleepy to hear me?!"Jessie said. She sat down on the bed next to Diana."Here,"she said, tossing a piece of candy to Diana."How did you know Kit-Kat was my favorite candy?"Diana asked, having tossed her favorite candy."Lucky guess,"Jessie said. Diana was very surprised. Jessie wasn't exactly sure. It seemed as if she had read Diana's mind. But she knew it wasn't possible. What Jessie did was, well, think, I wonder what Diana's favorite candy is, and she suddenly heard Diana's thoughts. I can't wait to go trick or treating-If we go trick or treating. I haven't had Kit-Kat in a year and it's my favorite candy, Diana thought. To Jessie, this was really weird. She decided to tell Diana."Diana, I think I read you mind,"she said."What?!"Diana asked. She had no idea what Jessie was talking about."What?!"she asked again."I think I read your mind,"Jessie repeated herself."Okay. Is this some sort of Halloween trick?"Diana sighed. She was annoyed with Jessie. She knew it was a trick."No. I DID read your mind. Really! I did!"Jessie said. She was annoyed with Diana- she didn't believe her."Whatever. Let me read YOUR mind, then,"Diana said. She thought, What color is your house? Suddenly, she could hear Jessie's thoughts. She was reading Diana's thoughts, too, so that she could think up the answer to that question. My house is a big red brick house, Jessie thought. Diana stopped."That wasn't a trick, was it? I can read minds and you can, too!"Diana sighed in amazement this time. This was amazing to both Jessie and Diana. They were absolutely amazed.

Small stories for little kids: The Smalltown park

Today we're going to the Smalltown park. We will probably meet some people from Smalltown there. Let's go! First, we have to go through the Smalltown market, than go through the Smalltown Library. We'll go to the Smalltown Library later and find a good story. Oh, wait! I found a note! The Smalltown people must have left it for us to read. Here, I'll read it to you:

"Dear Smalltown comers, Isabelle and her little kiddie crew,
Welcome to Smalltown! You are welcome to stay at the Smalltown Hotel. I know a good story that I think you will like. It is in the Smalltown Library in the ages two through six section on shelf nine. I hope you like it!
-Little Catling"

Hmm... Sure sounds like an interesting story. We'll read it later. Let's go to the park now. But first I need help with my map. Oh, there's someone right over there! Let's ask him for help.......... He said that we need to turn left to get to the Smalltown market and then we have to turn right to get to the Smalltown Library. Do you know which way left is? The arrows will tell you!

There. Now let's go. <-Let's turn left. That will get us to the Smalltown market. Almost there.......... We're here! Now let's turn right->. That will get us to the Smalltown Library......... Isabelle: Nice to see you, little Catling! Do you remember us?
Little Catling: Of course I remember you! You are Isabelle! And is that you're little kiddie crew?
Isabelle: Yes.

Isabelle: We're doing good. We haven't read the story yet, but we want to. Will you take us to the Smalltown Library?

Once there was a little cat who thought it was a duckling. It was raised by a mama duck. The little duckling, or catling, I should say, did everything the mama's little ducklings did. The only thing that was different about the catling was that it meowed. She didn't quack. But she still thought she was a little duckling. She ate corn when the little ducklings ate corn, she really did! Even when the ducklings swam she went along with them! She even followed mama duck everywhere she went. But when the catling saw a mouse, she decided to chase it."What is catling doing, mama?"a little duckling asked."She is a cat, not a duck. I forgot to tell you-I thought you would know because we have beaks, not tails."Mama duck said."Can we keep her mama? Pretty, pretty please?"asked another little duckling."Of course, little duckling. She is my own special catling"

Dear Diary,
We have to throw out the pumpkin today because it smells like rotten eggs. We have to throw out the pumpkin before Halloween...To bad. We kept last year's Christmas tree until June this year! We are going to go to Chicago again for Thanksgiving. Oh, I forgot to tell you, Diana turned six a couple weeks ago. Happy Birthday, Diana! Jack is turning eight in about a month. I can't wait to go! Olivia got a rocking horse and Alex got a train set(Thomas the train). Gracie tried out the rocking horse, too. So did Bubber(Alex). I've got to go now. Bye!

What I learned this week

I made a BEAUTIFUL art project today! I learned about St. Augustine of Hippo... Doesn't that sound weird? St. Augustine of HIPPO?! That makes me laugh. I know it's probably the name of a place, but it still makes me laugh! I still have to do reading today. I'm still reading the Roman Mysteries dolphins of Laurentum. It's very good. It is the fifth book in the series-and soon I'm going to read the first book. Isn't that just a tiny bit mixed up? I read the fourth one first, then the second, now the fifth, and next the first. Now I have to get back to the rest of my school work. Bye!

Story 5:The great ballerina-Chapter 4: Late!

Jessie and Diana got to the bathrooms."Let's go back now, Diana,"Jessie said."Okay,"Diana agreed,"I wonder who those spies were." "Me, too,"Jessie said,"Hey! We should be Detectives and try to figure out who they are. We need some clues." "We know they're spies. I guess that's a clue,"said Diana,"but not a very good one." Jessie got out her notepad."Oh. Now I remember. I can't spell spies. I can't even spell clue,"Jessie said."We'll just have to remember it, then,"Diana said quietly. Two girls walked by-you never know who might be spies."I'm not to good at remembering things. After a few days I'd forget,"Jessie said, quietly like Diana."I'll remind you,"Diana said."Thanks!"Jessie said cheerfully. They started walking back to class. When they got back, an angry Lulluna was waiting for them."Uh-oh,"said Jessie when she saw what time her digital watch said it was,"Miss Lulluna going to be really mad. We took an hour!" "Definitely uh-oh!"Diana said nervously. When they got back to class, an angry Lulluna burst out screaming.
"Girls! What took you so long?!"she burst out."Uh...The soap pumps were out of soap so we had to wait for them to be filled,"Jessie said, in the most normal tone she could. Lulluna fell for it."So many kids use the soap. We have an emergeny bottle in the cabinet. Not many of you know about it,"Lulluna said in an angry ten year-old sort of way. She turned ten four days ago."You can just skip your extra practice. You know I was just kidding, don't you? It is your birthday, after all,"she said. Diana was so happy. The bell rang-it was time for recess."Let's go play!"Diana said to her new friend, Jessie.

Story 5: The great ballerina-Chapter 3:Happy birthday, Diana

Diana was very happy. It was her sixth birthday. The bell rang. She put on her clothes and ate her cereal quickly. She knew she would be late, anyway. Just the later you are, the more trouble you get into. She locked her bedroom door, slipped the key in her pocket and before she knew it she was running down the stairs. She knew trouble was waiting for her in class. She scurried quickly to her class room like a mouse. When she got to the door, she whispered to herself, "Why is it so quiet in there? Is Miss Lulluna just waiting for me so she can suprise me with detention?" She quietly opened the door, waiting for Lulluna to shout at her. She was very suprised by the look on Lulluna's face."Diana. You're late. Extra hour of practice for you." "Oh, great. More work,"Diana mumbled. She expected more, but she was still angry with what she got. She had no idea what Miss Lulluna had in store for her and the class. "Jessie, Ann, Mary, Beth. Come up here and get Diana her presents. Pass the card around so everyone can sign it,"Miss Lulluna said, handing a present to each one of the girls."Happy birthday, Diana!"Beth said, through a gap-toothed grin. Diana knew Beth's tooth came out a week ago when she was practicing. Ann gave her a present and a half. The other half fell off. Diana thought it wasn't tightly wrapped. Jessie picked up the other half and gave it to Diana. "Happy birthday, Diana. I wrapped this one myself. I didn't do to good, you see. It fell in half. Sorry! Everyone's signing the card for you right now. I was the first one to sign it. You're six now, right? I turned six a few weeks ago. I'm just a bit older than you. I hope you like your presents!"she said as she skipped off merrily. Diana liked Jessie. She was very nice. In fact, they were sort of friends. They just didn't talk very often and they didn't properly intrduce themselves to each other. They were still friends, though. Diana would have to find a time when she could talk to Jessie. She slumped in her seat, often taking a small glance at Jessie. Diana asked if she could go to the bathroom. Anyway, the school rules say you have to take a buddy with you if you don't know how to get to the bathroom. Diana knew the bathrooms were all the way on the other side of school, but she didn't know how to get there. It was a good excuse to have a nice chat with Jessie. Jessie leaped up and grabbed Diana's hand. She knew what Diana was thinking. When they got out of the classroom, Jessie and Diana started their chat."That was a great idea, Diana!"she burst out,"We should do this every time we want to talk!" Diana realized Jessie was right. "Okay!"Diana said cheerfully. Just then they realized they were being followed."What are you two doing here? You're boys!"Jessie yelled at them."We go to the boys class,"one boy said."There's a boys' class?"Diana asked."Not for ballae, for acting,"
the other boy said."Yeah, we just wanted to take a break and do some sp-" One boy hit him before he could say the rest."Ow! What was that for?"the other boy asked."You know why!" the boy said. Diana and Jessie realized the boys were spying on them, so they ran away."You made them run away! Why'd you do that?"the boy said again. Before the could hear anymore, they got to far away."That was close!"Jessie said."Yeah,"Diana said,"Let's keep going."

How to do stuff: lesson one-being funny

Hello! I am Isabelle, or as some people call me, Izzy. I will teach you how to be funny today. Here are things you should do to be funny:

3.Run in circles for ten minutes-that's just plain weird.

Halloween fun

Here are some crafts and activities that will make Halloween REALLY fun!:

Most fun for ages 3-5:
1. Make up your own ghost dance(the next activity makes this more fun!).
2. Ask your mom and dad if they could cut a BIG circle out of a white sheet. If they can, tell them to cut eye holes in it. If you thing it's boring, have your mom help you decorate it with lace and ribbon! Now, do the ghost dance in your cool costume!

Most fun for ages 5-7:
1. Tell your mom and dad to hide candy in your backyard. Now, you and your friends can look for that delicious candy!
2. Make paper ghosts! You and your friends can cut ghosts out of paper. Draw faces on them. Now, decorate them with glitter and ribbon! Don't forget to draw on them with markers and crayons!

Most fun for ages 7-9:
1. Play candy toss! If you have three or more friends over, toss the candy to your friends in a circle clockwise(use one piece of candy). When someone drops the candy, he or she is out. When it gets down to two players, whoever drops the candy is out, and whoever is left wins!

My very loose tooth-is gone!

I had a very loose tooth. When I was asleep, something woke me up. I looked at the clock. It was just 5:00 in the morning. Usually I wake up at 8:00. I don't know what woke me. A minute later, I felt something in my mouth. I spit it out. It was my very loose tooth! Maybe my brain woke me up because it felt that my tooth was about to come out and didn't want me to swallow it......Isn't that weird?

My new friend: Maddie

We've been friends for about three months. I just forgot to post about it. She's really nice and very cool. We made a club called the Sand Club. I made another friend, too. Her name is Erica. I won't be able to see her again for a whole year! She's really nice, too. Me and Maddie are best friends.

Apple Picking!!!

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited! Today we're going apple picking!!!!!!!!! We do it every Fall. We have cider and donuts. Maybe even go in the corn maze! When you finish the corn maze, you get free donuts and cider. Last year when we did the corn maze, we got out around 7:00 PM so we were to late and we couldn't get free cider and donuts!!!

Dream Diary #1

I've been remembering my dreams lately. Some of them are really weird........... Since I've been remembering my dreams, I've decided to start this Dream Diary. Here's one of my weirdest dreams:

October 4th 2008-
I had a dream where my books were disappearing. I asked my mom what we would tell the librarian(most of the books were from the library). She said she had no idea. All of the books that disappeared were fiction. The books that didn't disappear weren't fiction(but I found my book about artists with the cover ripped off...). It was really weird..........

What I learned this week

I had a cool art project today. I learned about Pompeii(and the volcano! I forgot how to spell it's name). I'm reading a cool book to go with it. I REALLY like the new history book. There's a series of three. I have the second one since I'm in fourth grade now.
